Graduates Dinner Club: "Who Still Publishes?"

An inspired monthly gathering where postgrads and guests explore big ideas across literature, science, and politics over shared meals and thought-provoking questions.

A Conversation with NGV Publications, this event is in collaboration with Melbourne Art Book Fair and Melbourne Design Week, an initiative of the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria.

In a time where content is instant, digital, and fleeting, what does it mean to publish today? Who is still publishing, and why?

Join the National Gallery of Victoria’s Publications team for a discussion on the shifting landscape of publishing – from the survival of print to the rise of independent, artist-led, and experimental models. Designed for university students, emerging writers, and designers, this discussion will unpack the evolving role of art institutions, the challenges facing contemporary publishers, and what the future holds for print and digital publishing.

Taking place on the eve of the Melbourne Art Book Fair, this talk will explore how publishing continues to evolve – and why it still matters.

🎟️ Tickets $10, including food and a complimentary drink on arrival. RSVP essential.
Vegan, Halal and Gluten Free options available.
