In this dark fairy-tale a girl punished by her community, Maria, flees into the forest and is given chase by a wolf. Finding an abandoned house with two pigs inside, she takes takes refuge. Responding to Maria, the house morphs, initially into something homely, later twisting into something else. The wolf, still outside the house, attemps to coax Maria out, while inside warps and changes, growing less hospitible.
The Wolf House was animated over the course of 5 years, owing its staggering visuals to stop-motion animation through an array of materials, perhaps most impressively animated paint. Directorial duo Cristobal León and Joaquin Cociña animated the film's near single-shot largely by themselves. Alongside a third script writer - Alejandra Moffat - the film was developed over the course of 10 years.
