The Art of Pairing: Pinot Noir

16/05/2025 - 16/05/2025 6pm - 9pm

University House

Wine Society

Why do we serve red wine with meat and white wine with fish? And what is a congruent or contrasting pairing?

The Wine Society welcomes you to a night of pinot noir appreciation, in collaboration with The Pinot Noir Project -- a group for pinot noir appreciators founded by the Faculty of Art's own Jacqueline Dutton!

Join as at University House to taste 5 different pinot noirs from around the world (including Burgundy!), as we explore the many expressions of this famous grape variety.

We'll also discuss food and wine pairing, with activities prepared to train your palate and demonstrate how our perception of a wine can change depending on what it is served with.

Whether you’re a long-time fan of pinot noir or looking to find a style that convinces you, join us on 16th May at 6pm!

No prior knowledge about wine required. Tickets available from 07/05 for members and 10/05 for general release.

This event is open to students aged 18+ from all disciplines and years. Tickets for this event are strictly capped at 20. Please make sure you are well fed before the event. This event is hosted at a licensed venue and observes the responsible service of alcohol (RSA). Ensure you bring ID.
